Within MJMES, the Developing Advanced and Smart Materials section includes both experimental and theoretical studies in the fields of materials that can respond to external stimuli or perform specific functions, such as piezoelectric, functionally graded materials, shape memory alloys, self-healing materials, materials for thermal/thermochemical energy storage/conversion (like phase change materials), and light-emitting materials (LEDs/OLEDs and photodetector materials). Also, research on nanoscale materials is included in this section. This covers the latest research papers on materials incorporating nano-dimensional particles (such as multi-walled and single-walled carbon nanotubes) designed to have nanoscale structures internally or on their surfaces.
